Woven car

“Reinventing the Wheel”

with Artists Ann Conte and Jeanne Wiley

Crane Arts Building

1400 N American Street

Philadelphia, PA 19122

Join Massachusetts artists Anne Conte and Jeanne Wiley

for a discussion unveiling the design inspiration behind the

“Woven Car,” an old, rusted MG Midget that was given a new life and

identity with recycled and overstock materials. The interior of the

car was transformed with sleek DuPontCorian® seats, windshield

frame and floor mats, while pale gold seatbelts were woven

to create a checkerboard pattern around the body of the car.

The unconventional design generated buzz among the architecture

and design community nationally and internationally, and

caught the attention of top media including

Fast Company, Inhabitat, Core77 and Contract.
