News from Radiant Jasmin
“Swirls of Color, Dance and the Blues” is a unique multi-event exhibit
featuring local artists Radiant Jasmin and Gordon Cowan from October 17th to November 14th. The opening reception is Saturday, October 17th from 5-8pm. Radiant Jasmin’s performance is scheduled for 6:30pm.
Invoking a broad musical theme, Cowan will exhibit his soulful and atmospheric blues paintings and in addition, will also introduce his gypsy series of paintings and drawings inspired by the multi-talented Radiant Jasmin, herself an artist, dancer, vocalist and poet.
Radiant Jasmin will be exhibiting her vibrant and spirited abstract multi-media paintings, floral photography and jewelry. In tune with the show’s theme, she will be reciting her poetry and performing several dances that sparked her artistic collaboration with Cowan earlier this year.
In an intriguing marriage of music and visual art, Radiant Jasmin may be seen as alternately exuberant and reflective as rendered by Cowan working with graphite and charcoal on old sheet music. Each piece was carefully chosen based on the composition’s title which plays directly to the mood and tenor of the drawing.
Join us for refreshments, fine art, wine, woman and song! Engage all your senses! It’s a wonderful way to spend a Saturday evening in October.
The Henson Jackson Art Gallery is located in Stoughton Center at 2 Canton Street, adjacent to the Stoughton Commuter Rail station. Plenty of free parking is available.
